Knee Pain and Knee Surgery Essentials

I’m not a doctor but I may play one on the Internet. However, I am someone who has had 12 knee surgeries since my first one in 2001 so am more educated on knee pain and knee therapy than the average Joe. If you’re reading this, it’s probably because we’ve met in person and bonded over shared knee issues.

For those of you who do not own a Cryotherapy Ice Machine, it is one of the best investments you’ll ever make. Insurance has paid for mine in the past but not the first one I bought . With Insurance trimming back coverage, I understand many people are buying their own machines and taking them with them when they are having knee surgery so they don’t have to pay a non-covered expense to the hospital. Before you purchase one, check with your knee doctor to see if Insurance will cover one for you. If not, below is a variety of options I found on Amazon. All of my systems were made by Breg but they each had room for improvement. The last system I got from Breg wasn’t as good as the original and was disappointed in that one. As I look on Amazon, the saying, “You’ve come a long way, baby!” comes to mind as I see there are numerous product companies who are making numerous varieties. I’ve seen the standard small cube with electronic pump which is what I have had but it needs new ice 3 to 4 times a day depending on how much I’m using it so like the option of a bigger one to keep the “surgerized” knee from having to go back and forth to the kitchen for ice. Now I see there’s one that’s even bigger and is on wheels!!! Love that idea!!! Also see that there’s one that does the cold therapy as well as hot water therapy so that’s worth researching, too. The nice thing is many of these have universal parts and you can get different size / style wraps for different parts of the body, neck/shoulder, knee, hand, foot/ankle. The one thing I’ve learned out of all of my treatments and therapies is that ICE is my best friend!!!

Here’s one of many options of the smaller Cryotherapy / cold therapy ice machines.

Here’s a cube sized Cryotherapy ice machine that also does the hot water therapy! Very nice idea!

Here’s the polar cryotherapy big ice machine on wheels!!! So awesome!

Check out all of the Cryotherapy options Amazon has. Like I said above, “You’ve come a long way, Baby!” and I’m talking to you Cryotherapy Polar Care machines!!!
